Rejoice, it's your season of abundance for overflow
Joel 2:23-24 (NKJV)
Be glad then, you children of Zion, and rejoice in the Lord your God; For He has given you the former rain faithfully, and He will cause the rain to come down for you — The former rain, and the latter rain in the first month. The threshing floors shall be full of wheat, And the vats shall overflow with new wine and oil.
Prophet Joel begins by telling us to be glad and rejoice in the Lord our God; and of a truth we have all been called to live a life brimming with joy and gladness because amongst other reasons, it is for our safety.
Moreover, Joel presents a reason for us to rejoice and be glad in our reference scripture. He tells us that God has been faithful in giving us "the former rain". "Rain" speaks of blessings. Indeed, God has been faithful in blessing us. We all are products and benefactors of His faithfulness. He has and He keeps showing us how wonderful, gracious, merciful and loving He is. I am sure you can attest to His faithfulness at different points of your life. In the book of Revelation, God is called Faithful and True thus faithfulness is His nature, and He cannot deny Himself (2 Tim 2:13).
Furthermore, Joel tells us that God will cause both "the former rain" and "the latter rain" to come down for us in the first month! I believe this is a great word for us right now. Yes, it may not be January, but in a way, it is the "first month". As we know, October marks the beginning of the last quarter of the year, so we are in the "first month" of this quarter. So God is saying to you this "first month" that He is simultaneously bringing both the former and latter rain onto you! He is giving you double portion of His blessings this first month, Amen. This is because, concurrent with His promise to Abraham, God so much wants to bless you and then make you a blessing to others (Gen 12:2-3). Your threshing floors will be full of wheat, and your wine vats will overflow with new wine and oil. Thus, you will have so much abundance beyond what you can contain, and then you will overflow to others.
Friends, this abundance is not just for the "first month" alone. The abundance is such that it will endure the entire year (12 months) and beyond for God wants you to enjoy satisfaction all the time. 2 Cor 9:8 says "And God is able to make all grace abound toward you, that you, always having all sufficiency in all things, may have an abundance for every good work". Indeed this is a great reason to rejoice and be glad. It's your season of supernatural abundance such that you will overflow. So will it be in Jesus' name, amen. God bless you
