John 4:3-4 (AMP)
He left Judea and returned again to Galilee. Now He had to go through Samaria.

Etymologically, Judea means "a place of praise" or "a praised place"; Galilee means "a place of darkness" or "a region of death".
In the Scripture above, we see that Jesus left a place of praise, a place of happiness and satisfaction, a place where people where praising God, praising Him, a place where He was accepted and reverenced; and He went to a place of death, sorrow, defeat, shame, disappointments, darkness, failure, a place which was the antithesis of where He left. The question is why would He do that? The simple answer is this: He went there to save the people in Galilee. Saving people is Jesus' job description. He specializes in saving people. He derives pleasure in doing it.

The scripture says He returned again to Galilee. He had been to Galilee before but He didn't mind going again. All through the ministry of Jesus, He visited Galilee severally. He derived pleasure in going there because His motivation for life was saving people. He is the Saviour of the world. He was born to save. Being the resurrection and the life, He wanted to give life to the place of death; and being the light of the world, He wanted to give light to the people in darkness. He is still doing these today. He will save you again and again and again, He'll never get tired.

On His way to Galilee, He had to go through Samaria. Samaria signifies "a place where people lack knowledge" or "a place of ignorance, insensitivity, confusion". Jesus left a place of praise to a place of darkness but He needed to go through a place of confusion (John 4:18). Samaria wasn't the shortest route to Galilee. In fact, bible scholars have it that it was actually the longest route hence Jesus was tired from the journey (John 4:6), but He didn't mind at all, He regarded it a matter of necessity to go through Samaria. Now, you may ask "why did He do that?", "Why did He go through Samaria to Galilee?", "Why did He put Himself under such immense stress in His journey to Galilee?" The answer is this: He had to save the people in Samaria too! Jesus is always saving people. He wanted to make a revelation to the people who had no knowledge (John 4:22) so that He could bring them out of their ignorance and confusion.
I mean, who does that? Who leaves Judea to go to Galilee and passes through Samaria? Only Jesus does! This is exactly what He did when He left heaven (a place where He was King, a place of beauty, a place of praise) to hell (a place of death, darkness), but He had to pass through earth to save us.
I can tell you, with absolutely no modicum of doubt, that on His way to Samaria, He was saving people and when He left Samaria to continue His journey to Galilee, He was still saving people. He never gets tired of saving people. He is a specialist in bringing salvation and all its inherent benefits to people. Saving people is what He does best. That's what He is famous for. He is the Saviour of the World. He came to save us and He specializes in it. Nobody does it better. Whatever, you need, just call on Him and He'll be right there to save you (Rom 10:13). Is it healing, a job, success, children, protection, deliverance, inspiration, joy, etc. Whatever it is, call on Him, He will give to you. Amen!
